iTero 3D Scanner
We use an iTero® 3D Scanner at Thornhill Family Orthodontics to capture an impression of your smile digitally. Using this tool, we can also create a customized series of Invisalign clear aligners just for you.
What is iTero?
Using the iTero impression scanner, we are able to capture and three-dimensional impressions of your bite and use this information to adjust your Invisalign treatment in real-time. We are also able to digitally store this data and show you your expected results.
The iTero Process
After taking a 3D scan of your mouth with our intraoral scanner, we project the image on the iTero screen to show you how your smile currently looks from all angles.
Then, we'll use iTero's Smile Simulator to provide a complete 3D rendering of what your smile may look like by the end of your treatment. Your scans will also be used to create your custom clear aligners.
